Yes, it really is free. Your valuation and appraisal cost nothing and there is no obligation to sell. Unlike some other car buyers, we never charge admin or buying fees, so you get 100% of the money we agree.

Your initial valuation is based on the details you give us. At your appraisal we do a quick check, and if everything is as described you get the full amount. If we find any issues, we'll show you and talk them through openly. Once we've agreed a price, we hold it for 5 days while you decide, and there's no obligation to sell if it isn't right.

Once you've received your initial valuation email, contact us on 01983 525410 and book a time that suits you. Please don't just turn up, as we may not be able to fit you in. If you're running late or can't make it, just let us know as soon as you can and we'll fit you in or rearrange.

About 15 minutes, and there's free tea and coffee while you wait. You're also welcome to drop your car off and come back later; we'll contact you when the inspection is done.

Your car, so we can give it a quick check over, plus:

• Your V5C logbook, in your name (or the legal owner’s permission to sell)
• Any service history, as a missing history lowers the value
• Your MOT certificate if you have it (we can also check online)
• Finance details and a settlement figure, if there’s finance outstanding (we can help get this)
• Both sets of keys (let us know if you only have one)
• Locking wheel nut key, and any stereo security codes or sat nav discs and cards
• Two forms of original ID: photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, and a utility bill or council tax letter matching the address on your V5C
• Your bank details, if you decide to sell (in the registered keeper’s name)

Of course. We can arrange to settle any outstanding finance; just bring the details with you to your appraisal. Our team will answer any questions and go through the process with you.

We pay directly into your bank account. A standard transfer usually arrives within 3 working days. If you need it sooner, banks offer a same or next working day payment for a fee they set, which is deducted from the agreed price; let us know and we’ll arrange it and explain the charges.

Yes. If you want to keep the plate, it needs to go on retention with the DVLA or be moved to another vehicle, and we're happy to help. The DVLA charges a fee for retention (currently £80), and the sale payment may wait until the DVLA returns the paperwork.

We don't run a collection service ourselves, but we can arrange for a local firm to collect it. They charge for this directly, and we can deduct it from the agreed price if you prefer.
